While in residence as the owner of the Historic Building (1930s) Lady Gosford built a Chapel in The Meadow behind the house. Services were held in the chapel by visiting Episcopal Priests. Additionally, believe that the boys that resided in this rural area north of Bennington needed to be baptized. She had the boys baptized with herself serving as their Sponsor/Godmother. The Bennington Museum has in their collection two photographs, dated 1934. One is a photo of the chapel, and the other is the chapel choir.

My father related this information to me as he was one of the local boys. He also donated the two photographs and is pictured as a member of the choir.
