@ Hi Judith Willis. Worked this afternoon filling in the in between family members going through the list of why and how we are related.
My mother was Sijtje Hoogland Her mom Trijntje Hoogland.
The Akkerman and Smith are in her line. Some of oma Hoogland's family moved to USA somewhere 1870 or soo.
Lansing they landed, one of th4e places. (My brother Jan Wagenaar lived in Grand Rapids and Lansing is not far from there. He moved to the States in 1956).
I live in Sweden since 1969.
I am on Fb and have contact with my moms sisters children and grandchildren that way.
My tree is in the World tree. My name is Wagenaar-Sjoeberg.
Since 2019 I am busy through My Heritage. Fathers tree I have come to 300 before Chr in China, the Huns. You are welcome to ask some more or have a look at my tree.
Mothers line I have till about 1150 the Smith's in Southern Groningen . Warm greetings, Emma Wagenaar-Sjoeberg. 440107 born in Heerhugowaard.

This may not answer what you are seeking help for, but if it is the "overwhelming" case, I can only tell you what I do:

I use an excel spreadsheet.

And I have ancestors that go back before the time of Christ :)

You. German J. Osorio Moreno it is exactly like you say. Because of that we need to help each others, imagine i have 2 projects gathering people from 2 Chileans cities.
Hard work. But it will arrive the time that all of us will see results.
