Maybe right and maybe not—

"Thomas Tarbell and Dorothy Rogers were previously attached as parents of Thomas, but there are no sources to support the connection. A baptism of "Thomas Turvile" on 21 February 1620 in Romsey, Hampshire,[10] was previously included in the biography of this profile, but it there is no evidence that it represents the Thomas of this profile. There's no evidence of a relationship between Turville/Turvill and Tarbell families. Alternative spellings of this Tarbell family include Tarbole and Tarball, but none show up as Turvill."

Do not confuse with Thomas Turville, of Newbury

https://ma-vitalrecords.org/MA/Essex/Newbury/aDeathsT.shtml TURRILThomas [Turvil. S. dup.], May 23, 1677.

(It’s a dead link, but the record is easy enough to find at Archive.org or Ancestry etc)

That shows there was indeed a Thomas “Tuvill”, with possible origins and definitely a sister, and he was not the same as Thomas Tarbell, of Groton & Charlestown

Wife of CAPTAIN JOHN PIKE of WOODBRIDGE was MARY TURVELL "the reputed daughter of THOMAS TURVELL of Rumsey, Hampshire." [ref 49:634]

So, I’ll remove the Turvill alternate name, detach from parents, and lock relationships.

If Wikitrees issue hinges on a B or V, it seems odd. We don't yet have the image for an original record that was indexed, for instance where there's a daughter of Thomas Turbyll—noting a B, not a V—in Romsey, Hampshire

Entry for Mary Turbyll and Thomas Turbyll, 4 Feb 1615.

I think that’s for Mary Pike.

I don’t know if this reads well to you, it’s blurry:

Thomas Turvell of Romsey, Tanner
Wife 1) Dorothy Rogers
Daughter Mary, m John Pike

Wife 2) Marie Claver
Son Thomas, christened 21 Feb 1620/1
The Newbury Tanner who died 22 May 1677.

The other “Tarbells” children fon geni are a Gedcom upload & unreliable.

I’ll try to get a better version of Turvell history, page 549.

I agree B va V is not a compelling argument, but a tanner son of s tanner, with a sister living in the same town, is hard to argue with.

Captain John Pike, second from American lines, settled in Newbury, Mass., where he married Mary Tarville or (Tarbell). (See Coffin's history of Old Newbury where he asks a grant of land for his brother, Thomas Tarville)

If you can read it, here’s Thomas Turvill of Romsey’s Will.
