Source for parents? Did I make a bad merge?
https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=85796699240

Jacob Gabriel
looks like Jacob Gabriel, II but is from a Gedcom and has different parents than the curated profile so I disconnected the other child Ruhennah Sherrill and kept her with Jacob when I merged the Abraham son profiles--- see "Abraham Gabriel was disconnected from his parents Jacob Gabriel, II and Mary Gabriel (Dunn) and sibling Ruhennah Sherrill (Gabriel) by Cynthia Curtis (Hicks)".

Please forgive the inconvenience. I am trying to clear some of my merge requests
TIA

FindaGrave memorial for Abraham: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/137597278/abraham-gabriel
seen there as son of Jacob 1730-1806 https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/137597262/jacob_gabriel and BOTH men have this FaG link on their profile so one of them needs removed or else the two Jacob's need merged and correct parents selected or all parents disconnected.
That is the action requested. To verify if they are the same or no.

Hello Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 I am looking at this. Thank you.

I will probably start on this in the morning. DAR estimates Jacob's birth year and has no place of birth. Many times that leads to parents that are unknown. It's hard to connect generations in that case. I will work on what I can, and Jacob may end up w/o parents, at least for now.

I am totally new to Geni, and not intimately familiar with any ancestry website. Several years ago I used Find a Grave to "go back" generation by generation. It ended at Abraham Gabriel. I do not recall how I got from Find a Grave to Geni, but I then was able to "go back" additional generations.
I do have information that there was a Jacob how came initially to Pennsylvania. Eventually, the family ended up in North Carolina, Iredell and Catawba counties. You all are certainly the "Pros" so I will have to defer to your expertise..

I made my changes. Perhaps more research is needed.

You're welcome. Thank you.
