Where is the proof Godfrey was Absalom's father? It is my understanding Godfrey lived in Shelby County, KY and had a son Absalom born about 1792 and married in Shelby County in 1813 Absalom stated he was born in Woodford Couhty, KY

Kenny > This is what I have on Absalom Clark's birth. I do not know who his father is but do not think it is Godfrey? I started to look at what I have and try to come up with an answer??

The birth date and marriage date comes from an email from Kenny Melton dated 17 Dec 2019.

31 years ago I and some other relatives were visiting with Bill Lamb and his wife Lora in Baxter Springs, KS. His grandmother was Absaloms youngest child, Amanda. He had some old Bibles and one was Absaloms. I had a xerox copy of a page that had information on it, but cant find it now. Bills daughter got the Bible after he died and I kept after her to get it picture of it, but she died before she could. I have tried to find where it is without any luck. He had written A. B. Clark his book and the date he purchased it in 1875. He wrote A.B. Clark was born June 30,1800 Woodford Co., Ky. He was married March 11,1826 Flemins (Fleming) Co.,Ky. Barbara wife of A. B. Clark died May 27,1878 and he had the time. His death date comes from an old funeral home record in Madison, MO. I believe it was listed as a Mr. Clark died of old age Jan. 24,1892. His grandson, Richard Utterback handled the arrangements. Kenny

I would tjink the name Godfrey would have shown up in the family somewhere.
The Amanda Clark who md Marion Hampton was not the daughter of Absalom & Barbara Alfrey Clark. Their daughter Amanda married May 19, 1872 William Bloomfield. Amanda died in 1932 in Galena, KS. My grandmother, Dovie was born in 1900 and remembered her. I also knew Amanda’s daughter, May Bloomfield Lamb Tracy Wade.
