The Discussion https://www.geni.com/discussions/241542 was started by a great grandchild of Herbert (MSB) Bloom to know why the tree on Geni "shows Herb's parents as Rosenberg".
Two of us, myself and Lisa, report having tried hard to find any documentation supporting that, and having failed to find any.

That discussion was started Nov. 2021 and there have been no new comments since May 2023.
Moreover, the only posts since 2021 have been in support of an alternate idea about Herb's parentage, first raised in that Discussion the last day of 2021: https://www.geni.com/discussions/241542?msg=1532954.
(I created a separate Discussion to look at and discuss that theory: https://www.geni.com/discussions/265938 )

Herbert (Herzl) Bloom has a duplicate purposely created by Customer Service.
Nobody has ever reported finding any documentation supporting the idea Herbert Bloom (either version) is the son of Rosenbergs.

Moreover, the Rosenbergs have another son Harris (Hirsh) Rosenberg
There is a memorial for him on findagrave - https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/32304914/harris-rosenberg
which includes a Photo of his Grave: https://images.findagrave.com/photos/2014/340/32304914_1417945113.j...
It shows his name in Hebrew as [Zvi] son of the revered [Yakov Yehuda]
Zvi is the Hebrew, Hirsh the Yidfish for the same name. Herzl is another version of that same name.
This is the Gravestone of Herbert Drosd, grandson of Herbert Bloom - https://images.findagrave.com/photos/2022/330/229763156_2baecf36-f0... - showing his name in Hebrew as [Zvi Hirsh Drozd] - giving both the Hebrew and Yiddish.

Not impossible that two brothers who lived to adulthood would be given the same name, but unlikely.

Mike Stangel - do you want to evaluate the information and decide if Herbert (Herzl) Bloom = Herbert (MSB) Bloom should be disconnected from Jacob (Yaakov Yehuda) Rosenberg and Toba Chaye Rosenberg as his parents?

Or are you willing for a Curator to decide?
Or?

And would the same decision apply to the duplicate of him created by Customer Service and currently Public: Herbert (MSB) Bloom

Herbert has a child born in 1879, so his birth was certainly well over 150 years ago, if that matters.
(I am asking you because of the creation of the duplicate of Herbert by Customer Service and your comment here https://www.geni.com/discussions/239814?msg=1523729 when I suggested a different disconnection
that "... is part of the branch that is duplicated for Mitchell's theory (which is not impossible). Leave it alone." - and it was the same Mitchell who connected Herbert to the Rosenbergs as their child - and I do not want to be in effect "tricking" a Curator into doing something that may be forbidden )

Also possibly relevant:
--On 1900 Census Toba Chaye Rosenberg is listed as Tobey Rosenberg - born "unknown" 1804 - M-in-law of Head (really wife's Grandmother) - Age 96 - Wd (for Widow) - Years married is blank -- 8 born, 7 alive - self & parents born Russia - immigrated 1888 - in US 11 years

IF 8 BORN, 7 ALIVE IN 1900 IS CORRECT - then there was just one other child. So either Khassa Rozaitsky (Khassa Rozaitsky) or Herbert (and his purposely created duplicate), not Khassa and Herbert.

(Originally the surname of the Rosenbergs was Rozaitsky -
Have found info in JewishGen / LitvakSig of Marriage record for son Isaac and birth record for one child of his, plus birth records for children of David, children of Harris -- all surname Rozaitsky or spelling variation thereof --See Isaac's About for more info tieing to that surname
Media on Khassa's Profile has photo of her Death Record.
Khassa has been shown as a member of this family since 2012, and was included in Trees created by two separate people which were merged together in July 2019.
It was not until Nov. 2019 that Herbert was added to Geni.)

It has been well over 2 months, and nobody else has commented.

I am very tired of seeing the paths Geni gives me going thru what it sees as siblings because of this almost certainly false connection.
If I do not see any comments against disconnecting in the next 48 hours, I will consider myself free to remove the connection between the two versions of Herbert Bloom and Jacob and Toba (Fine) Rosenberg.

It is easy enough to reverse, but hopefully once done, it will be allowed to stand.
