It's a puzzle because Delia Robertson has her dying in 1790. "She died in 1790 Cape, South Africa, .1 [[S371] Website Rootsweb's World Connect (http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com).] and Delia is usually very pedantic about details like this. The link doesn't work, and so she's not offering any primary source evidence.

Thoughts, anybody?

"De vrouw van Barend Vorster"

I found death entries for a wife of a Barend Vorster and three children in the Tulbagh(Roodezand) Death lists dated at 2nd September, 1789.

The death date does not line up for any of Barend b3's children in Geni, nor grandchildren. It is also unlikely that this entry refers to death of any of Barend Vorster b3's grandchildren with the name Barend's wives .

Were there any other Barend Vorsters? Not that I know of.

Maybe I'm reading quickly - but why would Dorothea's death date line up with her children's? Probably being dumb :-)

Sharon I was too quick off the mark and now realise that the entry refers to Barend Vorster b3's eldest son Barend Johannes Vorster's first wife Cecilia Levina Catharina van Heerden (1752-1789) and presumably three of their children.
Sorry for getting any hopes up. Hmm!
