J.D. Vance -- possible VP candidate

Hello, all,

JD Vance, 50th Vice President of the United States is said to be one of the top two finalists for the Republican VP spot.

In tidying up his profile, I have a vague memory that when we were working on his tree (seven years ago!), we found mostly English ancestry, not the Scots-Irish he identifies with...does that ring a bell for anyone else?

Maybe we can find the Scots-Irish ones to build up more?

(I'm not adding him to this project at this point because it's too early...just getting ready in case it happens!)

I have started working on fleshing out his family tree a bit more. Thus far, I have not come across any new immigrant ancestors, so I can't yet say whether there are any Scots-Irish in the mix. I will not be surprised to come across connections to my own tree (from the South on my mother's side, with a lot of Scots-Irish and English).

Still no confirmed Scots-Irish ancestors yet, but one branch of his family does go back to Germany (that branch was already in Geni before my research started). I've also heard he has Revolutionary War ancestors; haven't found any yet!
