Please see media for document indicating descent from Charles Marsh/Susan Arnold Marsh. On the other hand, Dwight Marsh's Marsh Genealogy Giving Several Thousand Descendants of John Marsh of Hartford, Ct. lists but two Cyruses; one of them (no. 3364) is not a possibility. The other (no. 477), however, is given as the son of George Marsh and Catherine Kilbourn.

As a 3g grandson of Cyrus Wilson Marsh, my DNA matches include—as potential cousins in the appropriate degree—other descendants of Catherine Kilbourn.

Michael Creston McGowan Huey At the moment I am leaning away from the idea that Cyrus Wilson Marsh was a son of George Marsh and Catherine Kilbourn and am inclined to believe that he was instead a son of Charles Marsh (1765-1849) of Woodstock, VT and the first wife of Charles Marsh, Anne/Anna Collins (c. 1768-1793). His birthdate would fit better with the children from that marriage—and since Charles Marsh and Susan Perkins only married in 1798 he cannot have been her son. The link to Anna on Charles Marsh's profile here on geni.com suggests that her maiden name was Perkins (was she an elder sister of Susan?), but this seems to be erroneous. I believe Anne/Anna Marsh, wife of Charles Marsh (1765-1849) is known to have been the daughter of John Collins I....

Picking up the thread from that first post: while my DNA Matches include other descendants of Catherine Kilbourn, I have a feeling that many of those relatives may have taken Dwight Marsh's "Cyrus Marsh" (no. 477) as "our" Cyrus Wilson Marsh. If that is the case, our DNA is pointing to the same person, yes, but that person may or may not actually BE Catherine Kilbourn and could instead be Anna Marsh, née Collins. Perhaps someone who is better than I at reading DNA material would be interested in looking into that question.... :-)
