Hello!

Is there a glitch today?

I would attach a screenshot if possible, but I seem to have no path to anyone I have checked today.

If I move out a few generations, the tree appears to be functioning properly. That is, I can pushpin paths between my grandparents and other profiles on Geni.

Just wanted to see if this was a Geni problem or a Karrie one.

Thank you! :-)

Argh! I should clarify paths were working this morning, but not properly this afternoon.

And now it seems to work again. Nevermind!

If it happens again you can make a screenshot and upload it as a picture to Geni and share a link.
As you are a Pro user you could also submit a ticket (see https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us)

Thank you Job! I will do that and use you and other curators as examples. Was the oddest thing.

Geni uses some caching for relationship calculations which can have an effect on which path is calculated. Also a tree conflict can have influence. If Geni is under a big load some indexes will also take longer to build so some newer profiles may not have been indexed yet and that also could mean a problem for calculating a path.

Hi Job,

Right....this ws entirely different and bizarre. I was testing some paths related to Erica's posts about Magnus Maxiums and Rhodri, and as an example, at one point it showed as "No Path" between myself and Erica. (We are cousins, in a few different ways I am aware of.) Similarly, a friend I was helping use Geni who is also a cousin, we also had "No Path", even though we share multiple common ancestors.

I'm not sure what happened, but if it happens again I will screenshot and link as you suggested.

Thanks again!

I bump into that when I have the push-pin set to a Profile not connected to the World Tree - and then forget.
When there is a path found, it says from whom to whom, so I easily see if it is not to me.
Probably not your case - but I have now learned to push the push-pin when that happens, just to make sure.

I think that Private User is likely correct. Same here: momentary freak out when I'm still push pinned.

Seems reasonable! :-)
