I see this profile slated for clean up on stories these two profiles may be able to sort some of the stories out found documentation for stories presented. Locations and such are addressed too. I like to look in Canada as well for this person and his wife as I found James the son the Captain in Canada

Well I found this. If John McCauly and Katherine Buchanan are his parents I found the birth record for them in Scotland. But I can’t find John McCauley and Katherine Buchanan in geni the McCauley name used various spellings but here the Birth record for John McCauley and Katherine Buchanan they did have son James McCauley. So there are records in family search and different lines then you all have.

One person who researched this family said that they are descended from a Henry McCauley,
who had a son, the Rev. John, a minister in Dumbartonshire. And that Rev. John married Katherine Buchanan and had the following issue:
James, pedigree below, who went to Virginia
Alexander, who followed James to VA
John, who also emigrated to VA
Isobel, who married Alexander Monarch

The above descent is unproven. If I had to guess, I would say that the James Buchanan Macaulay who emigrated to Canada would be more likely the James mentioned above.

There seems to be two James McCauley and Two Robert McCray associated with Captain James McCauley Queen rangers here proof. Unless someone got The Wife Elizabeth McCauley Watson And Hoke Mixed up. Also there is no records on Elizabeth Watson to be found so did a mistake happen here. I found records to most story but wives differ. Please be careful I have historian and author Lawrence Powers looking over the situation and will seperate all when I find more information. I have to figure where the mistakes happened.
