Stoneleigh and London are about 100 miles apart or at least a 5-mile horse and wagon trip from each other. Wikitree pegs his death in London, likely owing to burial there, but the profile mananger cites no source for town of death. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Leigh-1582

This is the short bio found on Family Search; "Brief Life History of Thomas
When Sir Thomas Leigh, Lord Mayor Of London was born about 1504, in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England, his father, Sir Roger Leigh, was 25 and his mother, Alice Trafford, was 18. He married Elizabeth in 1529, in England. They were the parents of at least 1 son. In 1552, his occupation is listed as city alderman . He died on 17 November 1571, in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom, at the age of 68, and was buried in London, England." It includes sources from Legacy NSF, Church of England Baptisims, Marriages and Burials 1538-1812 and Find a Grave Index. Unfortunately their website is being glitchy at the moment and I'm unable to access the links. Wikipedia has a bio for him as well with 8 references listed. You might possibly find more information following those links. Good luck in your search.

I erred in my prior not. I meant to write "...5-day...trip". I rightly doubt he died in Stoneleigh followed by his body being transported to London (over 5 or 6 days) for burial.

Stoneleigh was the property but he probably didn't spend all that much time there. Do we know where exactly his London residence was? It could have been outside of London proper, right? I think we're stuck with England for death location.

Dictionary of National Biography (DNB) has:

He died on 17 Nov. 1571, and was buried in Mercers' Chapel under a handsome monument erected by his widow, which contained an inscription in doggerel English verse. It described him as a lover of learning and a friend to the poor, and recorded both his great wealth and the numerous changes of fortune which he experienced.
