Can anyone provide evidence for the ancestry of John Hamilton, the husband of Jonet Young.
John Hamilton married Jonet Young in 1717, at Hamiton in Lanarkshire, Scotland. The record of their marriage shows that both parties were residents of Hamilton parish at this time, and that John was employed as the servant of John Burn in Brumbletown in Hamilton parish. It seems quite likely, therefore, probable even, that he was living and working at Brumbletown when he married Jonet Young
