It seems William was used by others a victim of Circumstances. IN 1914, he refused to deserve. As an objector. because he had served he was encouraged to sign up. They tried to get him in the medical Corp. and Machine gun corp. He was accused of receiving stolen goods (probably trumped up charges. In the middle of the war he sold lots of commercial property but did not benefit. He always thought God was sufficient He lived a simple obscure life despite close contacts with the highest aristocrats like the Cave dishes, he was related to three Field Marshals and his trial was a delicate matter.
