Can anyone tell me why Sir John Goring (c1430-1495) is listed as John Goring I, when according to the tree his father grandfather and great-grandfather were also John? Is there a reason, should it be changed?

How do I look into this and what is this about?

Oh, now I see the message. No, I don't know anything about these people. Maybe, they didn't have the same middle names. That might be why..

It was probably because one person's line only went as far as the one John so they had him as #1. Any way I changed the whole line. It's important to put these suffixes or other distinguishing marks in the display name so they don't get accidentally merged together.
