The meaning of the name Azaria

Being honored with the same name as my great uncle I figured I will discuss the meaning of the name Azaria

The meaning of the name "Azariah" is "God (יה) helped (עָזַר, azar)".
or He whom God has helped

Azar basically means Help
and the "iah" or "ya" is one of the many references made to God's name

There are several people in the Bible called "Azariah". "Azariah" is an alternative name of Uzziah, the king of Judah.
