Charles Forest Bickford passed away on Saturday, August 21st at 5:15 am, in Chicago, Illinois at the University of Illinois hospital located in Chicago. His body was flown to Paris Arkansas. Smith Mortuary was in charge of burial arrangements. Charles was buried on August 30, 1999 in McHendrick Cemetery located near Paris, Arkansas on the outskirts of Subiaco.
Charles had contracted Hepititis C and recieved a liver transplant on March 17th, 1999. He was doing very well with the transplant and was able to return to work. He lifted something heavy and caused a blood clot on his liver. Doctors were unable to repair the damage and Charles lasped into a coma for a few days before he died.
For reasons known only to Chuck and those close to him he chose to enter into the hospital under an assumed name and that name is on his death certificate and cemetery burial records. His tombstone carries the surname of Bickford as he always felt that name was his birthright and he had so many memeries of the Bickford homelife. He loved his mother and father very much and always had a strong need to be close to them. He always thought there was some sort of greatness in walking in his father's footsteps and going down the same rocky road.
