18 March 2010:
According to the Panevezys Revision List of 1834, Page # 654, Registration # 266 (Former Registration # 105, in 1818. Registered on April 20, 1834. Archive / Fond / Inventory / File: LVIA / 515 / 25 / 431): there was a Leiba son of Khaim Shneider, who had a wife, Khaie, and a daughter, Golda.
Leiba (the head of the household) was 10 in 1818, and died in 1834.
Khaie was 28 years old in 1834.
Golde was 3 years old in 1834.
This is far from conclusive, but perhaps this is our Leiba Schneider, father of Yacob Sender Schneider?
Some discrepancies need to be explained first.
1. Your tree has Golda as Leib's sister. The Rev. List has Goldie as a daughter. He probably would not have given his daughter the same name as his sister, unless she had already died.
2. Your tree says Yakov was born in 1833 If that is correct, he should have appeared on the Rev. List also. Since he is not there, I think that makes it less likely that this is the right Leib.
My mother, Goldye Tabackman, was the link to the brothers and sisters of Harry Tabackman that was posted last year and merged into this larger tree. I cannot remember the name of the man who merged the trees, as we never met. I have no information about the rest of the family. It certainly has grown. It would be interesting to understand who we are and how we are related. Shirley Hartman
Where in the tree is the Leib SCHNEIDER you are referring to? Do you still need help with this question. Is he related to anyone on my www.loebtree.com website.
