The 1880 US Census for Davidson, Iredell Co, North Carolina list Jane A. Holdsclaw
at 59 years old and a widow.
The belief is that her husband was James Harvey Holdsclaw, and that he was killed at Point Lookout Confederate Prison Camp in 1864.
In the home during the census were two sons, P. C. Holdsclaw and David H.J. Holdsclaw.
Lucy C. Holdsclaw, James Franklin Holdsclaw, and Charley E. Holdsclaw who were P.C.'s and Mary Ann's children.
