Erica Howton - Basic Members can already edit the Public Profiles
Aside from what Henrik mentions here: https://www.geni.com/discussions/74031?msg=1519328 - in what way is it "helpful for basic members to collaborate with PROs."?

A question better asked of different curators, sorry.

There is no access difference collaborating with a pro or a basic user, other than a pro user probably have more profiles you get access to and is more active.

Private User - is it currently any more helpful to a Basic member to collaborate than to a Pro to collaborate?

Private User, - Technically no, but as I wrote above a Pro user is usually a more dedicated Geni user willing to pay to keep the site up and running, and usually have more managed profiles which you get access to. There is however basic users who have ten thousands of added profiles since there is no limitation for that. Collaboration, in general, gives you even better access to collaborators public profiles than being a Pro user, but there is no difference wether you are a Pro or Basic user yourself.

TO: Henrik Brandt, Henrik in response to your recent comment, all I have to say is that TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH! Meaning that when there is a difference to be resolved, You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make him drink! I have watched for years where some of the researcher are just copying other people's mistakes and they pass the information on to other people, leading them down a WRONG PATH, and if they did the research they might have found the mistake. But going down the wrong path without proof or documentation has hurt a lot of people and wasted YEARS of their time. They had to back track their steps to get the prblem taken care of. Or perhaps never had the mistakes corrected ever! There are atleast 2 instances I recall on this issue. There was never an Elizabeth Flydane/ Flydene that married Richard Osborne Ist b. 1488. But more than a thousand people have documented that she was his wife! OH MY GOD! They are in for a surprise! Peter Osborne b. 1442 married Lady Eme "Essex". Essex is a county in England and NOT her given surname! Her maiden name was Bourchier. Other people can't find proof of this so they assume the name is wrong! The key word is ass/u/me. In the Visitations of the different counties in England they would find the proof there! If they know the other family names that married into the family that is what would be helpful to them. Because the answer is on a chart that merges the Bourchier family into the deVere family! I do have a QUESTION FOR YOU~ I see that You and Lois Lubin have the word PRO by your name. Are both you and Lois professional genealogists?

Kay Osborn

Geni automatically puts PRO after your name if you have payed to access additional features on the site. It has nothing to with being a professional genealogist which I certainly never would claim to be.

Deirdre Loxton

I see Nicolaas Albertus Reyneke, ii is still connected to you as your grandfather - but has no parents.
Looking at his Revision Tab should show you what happened.
If you need help fixing it, post in ATTENTION Curators, please assist: https://www.geni.com/discussions/216411 rather than here.
