Ephraim Bradford

I am sure there are those of you who have an interest in the tree of Governor William Bradford III. Here is some information that may be helpful.

I find no evidence that Governor Bradford had a son named Ephraim.

In fact, if Ephraim were born in 1590, that would have been the same year the governor was born. William Bradford III had two wives. First, Dorothy May, who fell or jumped from the Mayflower while it was moored near Cape Cod. She never set foot on land. They had a son, John.

Second, he was married to Alice Carpenter Southworth, and they had William, Mercy, and Joseph. Alice had two sons and a daughter from her marriage to Edward Southworth, named Constant, Joseph, and Mercy. They came to live in the home with her and the governor.

In the profile, there is a reference to a wife named Alice Atwood. I find no reference to this in history. Perhaps someone was thinking of Alice Carpenter.

If anyone is interested in the Bradford tree, and I am, I hope this information will be helpful.

Adding a proper link to the profile so the various managers will be part of the discussion: Ephraim Bradford

After looking at this the first few minutes, it looks like Ephraim is actually Governor Bradfords grandson, no? Governor Bradford was born in 1590, his son William was born in 1624, and *his* son Ephraim was born in 1690 (according to the profile).

so you think a generation was missed when the uploading went on? or was it mis merged somewhere along the line? can it be fixed?

I'm saying I think the tree is actually correct. Governor Bradford did not have a son named Ephraim, and Geni does not show Ephraim as Governor Bradford's son, but his grandson.
