I remember steak and salad as a favorite meal of hers.
She taught me the secret of her wonderfully crisp salads (it's in the order of the tossing- pepper, then salt, then vinegar, then oil.) I had a steak and salad last night, in her honor.
I recall her "cave"- her black and red living room, with plastic on the upholstry, in the 1960s. As the children cleared out of the house, she finally went through a white stage.

Anthony Richard Ruffino@Anthony;
Exerpts from her brother Sonny's memoirs:
"Janet-My Delicate Sister"
One day Bo and I...heard several female voices on the landing below, and I thought one of those voices belonged to my sister. The voices began to show some anger, then some ridiculing, then some threat....and finally what seemed like the start of a scuffle. I ran down to protect Janet's interests, only to find that she has flipped her "cool image" and was in the process of teaching four (that's 4!) smart-assed girls the error of theor ways....One was in her clutches, one was held behind the opened elevator door...and the other two were cowering in the elevator. Janet was pummeling them as well as she could reach them, and the four nasy brats were in terror for their lives.
