While checking zombie clearing activity (Thank You Noah!) I stumbled across a profile merge request for @Marie CHALUMEL. I noticed that the manager of the merging profile was Thomas Goulet, the same name as Marie's husband. Since Marie died in 1652, I thought this strange; I opened the manager profile to discover that @Thomas Goulet was marked deceased in 1652, yet managed to start his family tree on Jan 9, 2009. Several other profiles managed by Thomas Goulet are "merge pending" in this branch of the tree.
Is something strange going on here? I apparently have a collaboration request pending from a previous profile merge attempt, but now I am concerned & would appreciate some advice. Comments, please.

But then, what happens to merge requests? Do you periodically log in as the manager & respond? I thought that you had asked Geni to reassign them to you. If he doesn't want to integrate with the big tree, why make them public? If he does, why inhibit merge requests? Doesn't make sense to me.
I did ask Geni to reassign them to me; they didn't get reassigned properly, though. Looks like Mimi Arcala ended up taking over most of Joseph Daigle's deceased profiles. His living profiles are still up for grabs.
As for what happens to merge requests, I think they just end up disappearing into the aether. It's a problem...
BTW - of all the profiles, why do you want management of Irene Cyr and Lucy Rita Daigle? Just curious.
Hi Peter-
I have seen many unmanaged profiles uploaded by Joseph Daigle in 2008. Apparently abandoned. When I see one, I request management as a default. Nothing special about Irene/Lucy. My mom was Daigle/Cyr. I have straightened out her direct line, but have hit several blocks back before1800.
I may have accidentally requested mgt on profiles you manage when picking up a family group. Will clean up what I can. I think there is a problem with Geni mgt system. I just got an strange email about request from "David Prins" (sent copy to you), but link provides no way to respond. Still some bugs, I think.
Thanks - Russ
