Khoury family

we have more than one khoury family in rmeich;
one of them is the family of our new star 'Raymond Khoury' famous as Shady Nasr now, his great grand father was a priest who lived in rmeich, he is a member of Ghazal family in origin...
the other khoury family is called also 'abdalla khoury' family, they are Hajj in origin, 2 members of this family 'father and son' both had the name abdalla and both were priests, so their family took their name...
father Shoukralla says : 4 brothers of hajj family came to rmeich they are abdalla ibrahim elias and moussa....

khoury abdalla is the grand son of moussa el hajj one of the brothers who first came to rmeich

about amil family:
the first member of amil family who came to rmeich was 'youssef tannous el khoury' also called 'Amil' he came from Jernaya near jezzine with his mother and one of his 7 brothers.... he got married to warde shahout 'el hajj' and later one of his daughters got married to yaacoub moussa el hajj, while his mother got married again to a person of assaf family, so their family ties were bigger with hajj family...

That makes sense about the Amil family Philip in that they are intermarried more with the Hajj jamily. It's interesting about the name Ghazal because we have a couple of Ghazali (female name) in Rmeich and I wonder if it was random or a way to keep the family name around. I am so glad the tree is done now because we can still trace families to their origin locations otherwise that would be completely lost.

What's also interesting is that Emmanu (Amil origin) is traveling with Nadina (Hajj origin). Even generations later and in a far away country, these two families are still connected!

i think the rmeichi people travelled together, in a couple of journeys, all my studies show that they left between year 1902 and 1905, they were together from the beginning strangers in a new world...
