Kia ora e te whanau

I was just going over our whakapapa and noticed that a lot of our Aunties & Uncles or Grand Aunties & Uncles passed away before the age of 50. How sad is that? Anyway my dad died when he was 39, my sister, and brother passed away in their early 40's, and I have another brother going through the same thing as them.

Motor Neurone is a wasting away of your muscles..eventually you may become blind, unable to walk assisted etc. It's not a very nice thing to see your whanau going through it. If you think anyone in your whanau maybe showing some signs of muscle wasting, or unable to walk unassisted please have them checked out.
Unfortunately it can't be cured but there is help out there for your families.

My family went for test years ago and we were told it's a genetic thing. I'm just so sad our families didn't get to watch some of our parents/grandparents/brothers or sisters grow old...all because of Motor Neurone.

Kia ora Darren...Yep it SuXs big time!!! Back in March we met Stanley at the Urupa (it must of meant to be) because we were just looking at all the headstones and we happen to come across Stan who was also visiting his brother Cooch... anyway,...I took one look at him and just knew he had the same thing. My brother Doug who has now got it and Stan just looked so alike it wasn't funny...They have similiar traits, everything...It was nice to meet him, but also sad knowing that he has got MND as well.
Kia Kaha e te whanau :)
