So as many of you know I have been helping my mom who has over 30 years of genealogy on Lejeunes and Guidry lines handwritten to redo all of her work since much of it was water damaged during one of the hurricanes. And yes, she insist on it being handwritten in her handwriting! LOL But oh what a treasured piece of history this will be for my grandchildren's children one day!
Anyway, I've been helping her by doing the research to verify bits of info that were just
guess-tures and speculations 30 years ago. Both she and I are sticklers for documented verifications...we LOVE finding old records or documents that put the facts in cold hard evidence like that....it's rather addictive to search for and unearth history like that....
So I have questions as I am nowhere the expert my mom is on all of this. I have come across a few tidbits from various people but they do not list their sources for verification. Some of these posts are on other sites and just come up with a google search others are jotted down hand notes that she has no remembrance of where she got it.....
I thought I'd throw the questions out and see if anyone here might have answers or suggestions.
Question 1: We have found two incidences where Pierre LeJeune (I) father is thought to have been a Claude or Claudin LeJeune from france who was a french composer. Anyone else come across this? If so, where are the documents? How did this come about?
Question 2: Pierre LeJeune (II) is said to have married unknown micmac who was an unknown daughter of Germain Doucet. We have Germain married to Marie Bougeois and this unknown daughter is listed as one of their children. However, in other places we have come across listings that show this unknown daughter as being conceived with an indian maiden. Question is if the indian maiden mother was before, during, or after the marriage to Marie Bougois or if this Marie was micmac or metis herself. WE have also ran across places that list the unknown Doucet daughter as "Emma"...
Question 3: We have been told by other family members who have delved into history that the LeJeunes may have come from a royal line of Capetian kings as their is documented history of a Lejeune king. Does anyone have proof that these are the same Lejeunes?
Thank you for putting up with my questions and I hope they are not baby stupid questions...LOL
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
