I'm trying to mark a family member as deceased and I can't figure out how to do it. Is there a user's manual for this thing? :)

There's a really good searchable FAQ here:

http://help.geni.com

It's a footer on every geni page. :)

Thanks! I finally found that but didn't see it on the bottom of the webpage before you mentioned it.

I checked it and still haven't found how to mark someone as deceased if he "claimed" his profile....working on it...

I might be missing something here but how exactly does a deceased person claim his profile? By email no less?

well, no, of course not - he claimed it a few months ago and had a fatal accident two weeks ago.

Oh my goodness! I am sorry for the family loss, that is tragic.

In that case, you want to let geni know through the help function, so they can release the account and associated profiles to his closest relative on geni. Use the Help link at the footer to open a case or sometimes it's just easier to use help@geni.com.

If claimed person (Geni user) is now dead then his/her immediate family member (also claimed person (Geni user)) shall contact help@geni.com about this. Recommended action - to take over management of all these profiles. Bad example - to delete all this profiles...
If nobody in family wants to take over these profiles - some of Curators will do it.
