I think that there are List rules needed between 2 independent phases.
Example:
Each profile page has phrase:
http://www.geni.com/tr8n/phrases/view?translation_key_id=212443
followed by phrase:
http://www.geni.com/tr8n/phrases/view?translation_key_id=228158
The last one can be singular (list has 1) or plural (list has at least 2) but the list rule shall change the first one.
Similar case is in Merge Comparison screen (where 2 profiles on it, both having similar fields).
there is first phrase "Manager" (currently not give for translating), it is followed by phrase: http://www.geni.com/tr8n/phrases/view?translation_key_id=228191
