Eleanor J. (McConnell) Moesch, age 84, of Prattsburgh, peacefully passed away at the Steuben County Healthcare Facility on Wednes-day, November 10, 2010.

Born in Prattsburgh on April 21, 1926 to the late Lyle and Della (Cooke) McConnell. Being raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Prattsburgh Central School. On November 27, 1926, Eleanor married the late Charles Moesch with whom she shared 64 years in a union graced with happiness, humor, and harmony. Over the years their relationship and companionship grew, and they truly knew how important family was to them.

Eleanor always had the needs of her family in her heart and was admired for that. She had a strong-will and unriveled sense of independence. She had a zest for life and took advantage of every moment she was given. She found much peace and comfort through tending to her horses, dogs, and cats. Eleanor was equally expressive in the outdoors where she always kept a beautiful flower garden as well as a plentiful vegetable garden. Her generous nature, flair, and sense of humor will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Eleanor is survived by her three sons; C. Andrew Moesch IV, William (Darlene) Moesch, David (Brenda) Moesch, and grandson, Sr. Airman C. Andrew Moesch V. Also surviving is her sister, Mary Joseph; sisters-in-law, Delores McConnell and Elaine (Phillip) Krawchuk; brother-in-law, John Gibbon; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially noting Harold (Nancy) McConnell, with whom Eleanor and Charles shared a special bond. She was preceded by her sisters and brothers; Evelyn Cole, Joe McConnell, Jack McConnell, Reva Champlin, Robert McConnell, and Donna Gibbon.

Visitation for Eleanor will be held on Monday, November 15 from 4-7 PM at Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, located at 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, NY 14873. A Service of Rememberance, officiated by Rev. Don Peek, will take place the following day (Tuesday) at the funeral home at 11 AM.
