Anyone wih information concerning Leib Rosenthal? The name appears on the manifest of passengers arriving in Ellis Island in 1905. He is recorded as having been born in 1903 and seemed to have traveled with others, not of this name. He is recorded as being born in Zambrow, yet todate no other information mentions him. His father apparantly paid for his fair and the fathers name was given as Filip. Another name i have not come across. One theory I have is that his fathers name was Shraga (Fivel Rosenthal), since he would have been 19 years old at this point and so, not impossible as a father suspect. Another possibility is the existance of another Rosenthal in the family but I have found no other evidence of this. A likley possibility is that he changed his name when he grew up, and his descendants may still be living in the USA but with an entirely different name. If anyone in the family has any hint as to where the connection might be, or if anyone has access to ellis island records or they are able to visit there to check on archives, please can you get in touch. all the best for now, Shlomo Rozental

Hello,

I see that you have started this discussion about specific people, but did NOT link to the relevant profiles. You'll get much better results if you do so, because the discussion will be visible from the profile itself, and will be seen by any other profile manager(s) as well.

Thanks for the tip, the problem i have is that i have not created a profile for this individual, as i don't know how to do so whilst not having a confirmed link to my family, rather a hunch based on certain ata that appears logical to myself. should i just create a profile anyway for this person, just to link up this discussion thread?

Well the one advantage of creating a profile for him and his father would be to have the names "out there", so that anyone actually familiar with the name or looking for it, would find them and you, to your possible gain.

In any case the best thing to do, would to NOT attach them to your tree... because the connection is not known. You could explain this in the About me section of the profiles.

You can't directly make non-attached profiles. So you'll have to create them with an temporary fictional connection to your tree, and ask a Pro user (or a curator) to remove this connection for you.
