My Great Grandparents were the above mentioned. You have Harriot's death as 1871, but it is actually 1873 at Bosavern, Cornwall. My Grandfather was their son, John - their 7th child. He was born 27 April 1863 at Penwith, Cornwall. He and his brother, James came to NZ and settled in Christchurch. He married Kate Robson 27 Oct 1886. He died in Timaru, NZ 13 May, 1945 and is buried at Waimiri Cemetery, Christchurch, together with Kate. My father, Leonard Earnest Clemens was born 22 Oct 1894 (he was 66 when I was born) in Christchurch NZ.

I am trying to trace the Borlace /Borlase side of the family in St Just, cornwall, but have conflicting sources of information. I have Harriots father and mother as George Borlase (cr 3 nov 1794) and Margaret Grenfell( cr 1796) but come unstuck wit this info. Are you able to shed any light on this with proven records?

i hav been tracing the clemens family in st. just for over 20 years.james grandfather john was our direct ancestor.i hav looked on census records and marriage reports and hav found george borlace's parents as george borlace and elizabeth warren. margaret wallis grenfell's parents were edward grenfell and charity wallis. .margaret's sister elisa was married to nicholas clemens. i believe the borlace family were farmersinteresting to know john and james emigrated as i hadn't been able trace them.
