My grandmother's mother's brother's son is her husband - they're cousins. Right now, her husband's family is entirely separate. Is there any way to tell Geni that my grandfather is also my grandmother's cousin?

You should contact Geni's customer service by e-mail. Explain the problem to them in detail. I hope they can help you with good advice how to correct the changes. Good luck!

You have full descriptions on how to make cycles in the help section linked to at the bottom of each page.

Please keep us informed on how this gets resolved.

I have a Great Uncle who married his niece and that caused major complications on Geni (never mind what the family had to say at the time about it) :-)

David - if you still need help - send me a link to your relatives and I will connect them

David I've a couple of those relatives too. Daniel Parker , my gg grandfather married his first cousin Lucy Maria Fernald. but it gets worst by backing up another gen. Parker's were marring Chandles and Fernald's were marring Chandlers' and then all children were marring each other. Quite a mess! Another parker married either his aunt or a cousin or she was both, she was a Fernald. . Still not sure about that one. Crazy

I have literally scores of cousin marriages in the Margolis and Frankel families and their descendants. Like 40+ over multiple generations. I've never had an issue. I believe that I just create both profiles and "move" one and merge it with the other. Obviously I don't waste time putting the same information in both profiles. On the merged profile, it shows up as being 2X (two times) in the tree.

Hatte , that's pretty much what I have done. i just meant it was at first a mess sorting them out. By now I have it straight in mind. Have for years. Some of the profiles you can acturally join at their properconection. Others you can't cause Geni won't let you and that's fine, I don't really care one way or the other. Sometime it does end up with duplicate trees but so what! Frankel, I had a woman with that last name help me locate my long lost brother, whom I though I'd never find. Unfortunately he is dead and I never got to meet him but he had children, who keep in contact with me. Judy
