How do I add an email address for a 10 year old child? I tried by deleting the birth year,. adding the email and then trying to re-add the birth year only to get an error, so couldn't do it. With so many children in school having emails, we should be able to add them. I wanted my grandson to join the tree as he is doing a geneology project in school.

The Geni Terms of Use does not allow anyone under 13 to be Geni members. They are forced to have this rule because of the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) rules.

You could probably delete his profile entirely, and add a new one without a birth-year.

Now I understand for what reason we received agressive emails from divorced American wifes that we on Rodovid (I'm an administrator there) published names of their children edited by their fathers !

What do I do for a grandchild who is now an adult to add an email address for them to be invited

For anyone over age 13 and 4th cousin or closer, or whose profile you manage just add their email in the email field.

Thanks but for this grandchild aged 21 there's no e-mail field. If I can’t find any other way I’ll have to go the long way by noting his details, deleting him and reentering him?

If there is no email field the person is probaby already invited.

Are you able to edit his Profile?
If so, look on edit screen -
Does he have a birthdate entered, and if so, what is entered?
