My husband's family are from Puerto Rico and have the name Padua. I read something in Wikipedia that says a bunch of Corsicans fled to PR in the mid-19th century and became coffee plantation owners, like his family (ex Martin Padua). One of the names of the original families from Corsica was Padovian, and I'm thinking they could be his ancestors.
Has anyone traced their line back to someone immigrated to Puerto Rico from 1830 to the early 1900s?
