CURATOR HELP! Elizabeth Hollis never married this Frederick Goss!

I have split Frederick R. Goss from Elizabeth Hollis.

thanks for your input .....did you discover any other Elizabeth Hollis and who

Delores, The only Hollis I can find in the Lois Heuss book of 1968 (which to my knowledge is the best single resource for my Goss clan, although like all genealogies it has its share of errors and omissions) is Jewell Hollis of Geary, Oklahoma born Sept., 1916 and married Matthew H. Goss born 1 Jul 1912 also of Geary, OK. They married in 1945. Still there being so many Gosses named Frederick, it is quite possible a Frederick of this clan married an Elizabeth Hollis.

I do believe that the First Frederick Gass/Goss in America born 1701 in Rothenfluh (grandfather of Frederick III about whom this discussion started) was married to an Elizabeth of unknown background. Most likely they married in Europe before arriving in Philadelphia in 1727. The only sources I have on this is the family tradition that the first Frederick married "Betsy Richards" and references to the death of Frederick Gass' "helpmate" Elizabeth Gass in 1754 records of Ephrata Clositer in Lancaster, PA. It is one of my genealogical dreams to discover more about this unknown Elizabeth, First Mother of the Gosses von Rothenfluh in America.

Two new issues to change or to be discussed:

1) Where did the initial "R" come from? I have never seen a document that showed the initial "R" or any middle name for this particular Frederick Goss. He has been referred to as "Jr" upon occasion when living near his father Frederick Goss (who was also sometimes called "Sr" and sometimes called "Jr" depending upon which Frederick generation he was being compared to).

2) Why does this profile still show two wives for this Frederick? To the best of my knowledge and research he was only married once to Sarah Elston.

I know that I don't know everything. But compared to most entries that we share, I have looked very closely to the three Frederick Gaß/Gass/Goss in my direct paternal lineage. If there is reason for a second wife or the initial "R", then please reveal it and I will cheerfully change my tree.

I'm assuming it was a mistake since I can't find any reason for it. So I'm undoing it unless someone can explain why they should remain disconnected.
