I am researching my neighbors family in northern Italy--Tuscany, Mazzei is the surname. I need some help!

Kenneth, did this family Immigrate to the USA from Italy or are they strictly Italia based?

What information, if any, have you found thus far?

Let me know!

I completed a Surname search on Ancestry.com for Mazzei and found some information. You can also get a free trial for 14 days (asks for credit card, doesn't charge, then can cancel after) or a lot of libraries have access for a small fee (or free)... I have access for a few days.

In our database we have found many occurrences of your surname. Find out more about your family and ancestors.

Some came to the U.S. and settled in the mid-Atlantic states. One Phillip was a friend of Thomas Jefferson and influenced him politically. They are now in the midwest--Ohio, and California.

There is at least one or more ancestral castles not far from Rome. I want to know more about the Italia-based ones.

Sarah, this is very kind and might I say brave - I hope you don't get over run with requests for Italian research!
My step father was half Italian and I haven't really even attempted his family research. All I know is his mother was Lorenza nee Russo LORENZA VINCENT and I believe they were Sicilian

As a curator I have also come across, whilst doing a project on the 1966 World Cup England Squad, Peter Bonetti and it seems he was probably of Italian Descent but I wouldn't know where to start. I found his parents and they both have Italian sounding names.Peter Phillip Bonetti
