Hi...I am not finding profiles for Dave Pearson, Bud Moore or the Allison's that I can identify as being the drivers, so wanted to share this link here for future use.
These are transcripts of the Induction speeches. http://www.asapsports.com/show_event.php?category=3&date=2011-5...
Ned Jarrett's was turned in to a document and added to his profile already.
Nothing matching David Gene Pearson
Nothing for Walter M. "Bud" Moore
Anita, I just did this. One of my favorites. I will finish it late for MP and project.
I found Dario...posted him for MP, added him to the project, and put a bug in Mike Stangel's ear to see if he could be the profile of the day this weekend...
a little help...[http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=bill+vuchovich+images&go=&a...= images of Bill]
Anita, Thanks for the link. The picture was my next step. In those days the car #1 was reserved for the champion. I am going to see if I can find his parents. Are we going to have separate areas in the project for the different types of racing?
What do you think of a listing of bygone tracks, Gilmore, Ascot (LA and Gardena) etc.
A list of tracks would be cool!!! www.jayski.com has a wealth of statistical data on the NASCAR series (Cup, Busch (sorry, Nationwide) and Trucks).
I was thinking on the F&F project page we list out each of the series names, so a search on say Nascar would find the project.
We could do open wheel vs stock vs midgets, etc...much as with the Civil War with projects for battles and units...since SO many drivers ran in multiple series (Tony Stewart). My concern is... is this too new? Are to many profiles to new to be able to add? I think the 9/11 project has run in to the same problem...profiles are still private per Geni auto-detect on birth dates, so they can't be added.
I did find a quirk where you can make a profile public, add it to a project, then remark it as private, but I have only tried it in my family group...and even then couldn't do everyone.
