Looking for the origins of William WYATT, a merchant and member of the Bristol Society of Merchant Venturers. He died in Bristol in 1645, and was probably born before 1600, but where?
I know that he had strong links with London, and that his wife was named Joan. They had 3 known children:
William jnr b 1622, Bristol (nothing further known)
John abt 1624, Bristol (married Anne SELF, had issue)
Mary b 1626, Bristol (married Robert YATE, had issue)
He used a heraldic shield described as "Or. on a fess Gules between three boar's heads coupt Sable three Mullets Argent - WYATT" which, I believe, may link him to the WYATT family of Allington, Kent. Any thoughts welcomed.
