More information on my grandfather. I have heard this more than once....I guess our grandfather was very smart and was interested in medicine. He studied with and learned from the local Dr. in town. Since he had a big family and it was like a small commune with all the sons living on smaller homes surrounding the big house he had the knowledge for administering first aid and remedies when needed. As it turned out he died of intestinal cancer, he knew what he had and I was told it was slow and painful death for him. My mother always said he was a wonderful man and very good to her and the same was said by My Tia Josefina Pena according to my cousin Jovita, she also said Tia Josefina cared for our grandfather during his illness untill his death.
