Laurence Miracle. Born, circa 1760. Census: 1790, in Burke Co., NC. Resided: 1807, in Claiborne Co., TN. Census: 1830, in Henderson Co., TN. He appears as Laurenc Marcle on the 1790 census in the Morgan District of Burke County, North Carolina. In 1807 the name "Lawrence Miracle appears as a witness on a deed in Grainger County, Tennessee, for a property now in Claiborne County. In 1808 Lawrence was in charge of a Powell Valley road crew. (Jacob Myracle was a member of the crew.) Larance Maricle appears in the 1830 census of Henderson County, Tennessee, listed as age 60-70. Jacob Myracle and Peter Maricle probably were his sons. The John Maricle and Henry Maricle listed in the 1830 census in Henderson County probably were his sons also. Abraham Myracle might be either a son or grandson. Lawrence Myracle and his family moved to Warren County, Tennessee, after 1810 but before moving to Henderson County in the 1820s. At least one son seems to have stayed in Claiborne County to be ancestor of the Miracle family found there.
