York/Glen Rock, A. Emma (Stabler) Heinecke, 92, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, York.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 2523 Pine Grove Road, York, with Rev. Dr. S. Philip Covert, officiating.

Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc, 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Emma was born on November 12, 1924, a daughter of Clovies J. and Lillie M. (Brodbeck) Stabler.

She graduated in 1942 from Glen Rock High School and received her Registered Nurse degree from Maryland General Hospital in 1945.

Emma was an RN at York Hospital, working on 7-South and the Maternity floor, following which she was a Private Duty Nurse in the York Area for many years and had worked at Rest Haven-York for several years.

She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a former head of the Nursery Department and was a member of the Ladies Sunshine Group of the church. She also was a member of the Yorktowne Senior Center and was past president of the York County Private Duty Nurses Association. She was a former member of the Triangle Chapter #483 Order of the Eastern Star, Shrewsbury.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda E. Miller and her husband, David of York and Frederica A. Mundis of Glen Rock; five grandchildren, Michelle and Ryan Mundis, Christiaan, Jonathan and Benjamin Miller; and five great- grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Kathryn I. Stabler and Margaret E. Stabler; her brother, Jared C. "Bud" Stabler; and her son in law, Michael W. Mundis.
