Mass emigrations from New Hampshire into Maine were happening during this time so it is possible that he was born in New Hampshire and moved to Maine at a young age answering the question as to why he gave both states as place of birth.
Married ~1850 (based on birth of first child). No marriage record has yet been found.
1850 Census for Hancock Plantation (now Fort Kent, Maine), spelled Aren, age 28, unmarried, working at the C.R. Bodfish lumber mill. Living next door is his future wife Mary (Dorothee) Thibodeau living with her sister Angele (Thibodeau) Pelkey.
1860 Census for Township 17 Range 9 (now St. Francis, ME), Aaron 45 years, born Maine; his wife Mary (Thibodeau); Benjamin 10; Aaron 8; Daniel 6; Roseanna 5; Richard 2; George 1 month.
