Later he acquired sole ownership of the plant and continued its operation until 1916 when he sold the business to the Swab Wagon Company.

He was a former assessor of Elizabethville, had served a number of years as treasurer of Elizabethville Water Company, and had been a member of Syrian Lodge of Odd Fellows, Elizabethville, since its organization.

Mr. Swab was married May 24, 1884 to Mary Jane Uhler of Elizabethville, who preceded him in death five years ago.

He is survived by two sons, Galen Swab, of Elizabethville, and Stewart Swab, of Collingdale, Pa., serving with the U. S. Navy; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two of his grandsons, Ray and Edward Swab are also serving in the U. S. Navy.
