About Aaron Wintrub

Rivke Reib and Me'ir Weintraub children appear to have been:

  • Aharon (father of Meyer who lived with cousins Samuel Gould and Sara Rubenstein Gould)
  • Asher (Oscar) who lived in Muscatine with brother-in-law Charles Fryer and cousin (?) Max Reib Rubenstein
  • Malka (Mary), who lived in Muscatine with husband, Charles Fryer

These are names that repeat in the Fryer family also and may be related to Aharon, the Karliner Rebbe. See [ Wikipedia article on Karlin-Stoler dynasty].

(Update) Luckily, Missouri death certificates are online and I found Aaron Weintrub’s this week (Feb 7, 2016). The informant was Meyer Weintrub! So now we know for certain that this was Meyer Weintrub's father.

Aaron was widowed. Aaron’s wife was Rachael and his father’s name was Meyer. His mother’s maiden name was not known to the informant. He was born in Russia. His birthdate was not known, but he was 68 years old and died of gas asphyxiation. It is not known if it was accidental or intentional.

Meyer Weintrub’s birth certificate was also online and from it we know he was born in Volhynia about 1886. His father was Aaron Weintrub. His mother was Rachel Zabrany. He died of coronary occultism. The informant was his son, Herman Weintrub.

Rachel Zabrany Weintraub’s death certificate is also online (spelled Weintraub). She died on January 6, 1918. She had been in the U.S. for 5 years. Her father’s name was given as David Zabrany. She was 53 years old, born in 1865.
