Aaron Zeitlin

About and around the research on Aharon Zeitlin, who was the only son of Courtadvisor Yehoishe, Joshua Zeitlin of Skhlov Popularly mentioned as Baron Zeitlin. Aharon was deeply religious and did not want to inherit his fathers wealth, but instead Aharons son Joshua named after his Grandfather took over the railway business and other obligations from the grandfather. Aharon had one sister only and no brothers, The sister Feigel was married to the Agriculture minister Abraham Peretz.
The information added to my tree with many brothers of Aharon Zeitlin is incorrect. There is much information in an album of his great grandsons children, who were cousins of my great grandfather. The old Yehoishe Zeitlis lived on the mansion called Ustzia close to Kherson. He was given this property which doesn't exist any longer by prince Potemkin. Joshua Zeitlin the older was mentioned under the name Yehoiche Zeitlis in old books and biographies by young men, whom he sponsored .And also by many other famous people of that time. Yehoishe had 10 siblings. From all my research and over 20 years of collection old Familytrees from Zeitlins all over the globe , it is easily seen that every single Zeitlin after WW1 wanted to descend from this famous ancestor. But unfortunately for them they were not related. There was much negative stories around Aharons brother in law Abraham Peretz for belonging to the Shabbethai Tzi group around Jacob Frank also called one of the false Messiahs. I think the talk is true mainly because his son Gregoire was born in Salonica to which Jacob Frank escaped, when he had to flee from Russia . And partly because the old Yehoisches father at some period was the rabbi in Thessaloniki as it is called today. So around that time unrelated Zeitlins absolutely didn't want to be related to this ancestor. The hope to be related came much later after 1918 when people claimed to be the last descendants of the murdered Tsar .This snobbism spread everywhere and many Zeitlins felt they also had to prove their noble ancestry. So many of the family trees I and Rabbi Dovid Zeitlin Zl collected from around 1920 show this attempt to become finer! Solomon Zeitlin the great grandson of Yehoische and his children were all very wealthy and highly educated. They were spread around Europe and America. Educated in Konigsberg Berlin and Leipzig and some of them had businesses In Wiesbaden, London even on Sumatra and Java. After 1904 and the Japanese Russian War the only child a son of Joseph Zeitlin of Moscow called Solomon who was married to my gg grandfathers sister Caecilie Sack moved out of Moscow and Russia, together with all the other Jews, from whom the Tzar tried to nationalize their properties, in order to pay his loans from the ridiculous was against Japan .Rabbi Dovid Zeitlin of Boro Parc and I have prof that his ancestors and my great grandfather Berl Sack's Zeitlin aunt and uncle Solomon Zeitlin knew each other . Dovid Zeitlin sadly passed away before we could solve how his ancestors and my great grandparents Zeitlin cousins were related. Dovid insisted on connecting his tree to mine before we could solve the relationship. I am sure they were not related at all. But I have found information that Dovids Ancestors were related to the branch of 10 politically active Zeitlin siblings whos father lived in Kiev. They were all hunted down by Stalin and murdered!! This group were somehow related to my great grandmother Chava Channa Zabludowski Sack's brother in law who also was a Zeitlin. And whos only son and daughter in law were politically active and in contact with Leon Trotsky. So the information about lots of brothers of Aharon Zeitlin is wrong! I can not remove it since Dovid Zeitlin who sadly passed away added it, and I have no access to his Computer. Nehirah Kadosh March 2024
