ABNER MOCK
Well known citizen of Cessna, Bedford county, died Saturday morning between 6.30 and 7 o'clock at his home there. Mr. Mock retired in his usual health and was apparently all right when his wife arose at 6:30 but when she returned to his room at 7 o'clock he was dead. He was the son of Philip and Susanna Mock and was born at Osterburg, April 16, 1857. He was married Dec. 22, 1878, to Mary Jane Mock, who died Jan. 13, 1900. To their union thirteen children were born, five of whom survive. He was married to Miss Anna E. Walters, Dec. 26, 1901. He was a member of the Osterburg Reformed church. Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Lonie Vaughn, Bedford county; Cora B. and Oliver R. Mock, Altoona; Warren B. Mock, Clappertown; Mrs. Pearl Ickes, Cessna; Ella Neal and Mrs. Carrie Hazely, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Sarah Gates, New York; Mrs. Mary Young, at home; thirty-one grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister: Joseph Mock, Schellsburg; Elmer Mock, Fishertown; Mrs. Etta Morehead, Bedford. Funeral services will be held in the Reformed church at Osterburg, Tuesday, 2 p.m., in charge of the Rev. S.U. Waughaman. Interment will be in the church cemetery. _____________________________
