~MY ANCESTOR~ Abraham Dickerman came from England to Boston with his parents, THOMAS & ELLEN (WHITTINGTON) DICKERMAN when he was about a year of age. They settled in Dorchester, Mass. Abraham married MARY COOPER, daughter of JOHN & MARY (WOOLEN) COOPER on 10 Feb 1658 at Dorchester. They made their home in New Haven at the corner of Church & Elm across from the Green. He became a freeman Oct. 1669. He was elected deputy of the Conn. General Assemby for several terms. In 1683 he was confirmed Lieut. of the trainband. He was a signer of the Fundamental Agreement. They were the parents of eight children, my ancestor being DEACON ISAAC DICKERMAN.
