Ada Ellen Cooley . Sheet from Anita Stauffer says there were 6 children, but only listed 5 names. . OBITUARY: Funeral Services Held Saturday for Mrs. Ada E. Rigg Mrs. Rigg Passed Away at Her Home Early Thursday Morning . Short funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Ada Rigg who passed away at her home early last Thursday morning following an illness of several weeks. Following the services at the house, funeral services were conducted from the Woodland chruch at 2 p.m., the services being in charge of the pastor Rev. C. O. Myers. Interment was made in the nearby cemetery. The remains were in charge of funeral director, Roy Dieterle. . The floral offerings were cared for by Fern Cooley, Sarah Stauffer, Nellie Rigg and Nina Rigg. Pallbearers were: Vadan Rigg, Harold Stauffer, Eldred Stauffer, Wilmot Rigg, Nils Cooley, and Charles Cooley, Jr. . Ada Ellen, daughter of Edwin F. and Sarah H. (Henthorn) Cooley, was born near Fishook, 5 March 1844, and departed this life at her home near Woodland, 21 December 1933, aged 45 years, 9 months, and 16 days. . She grew to womanhood and attained her education at the Gardner district school and also attended Perry High School. . On 27 November 1907 she was united in marriage with Fred Rigg and this union was blessed with six children. One infant son and Edwin Dale, aged four years, 5 months, and 3 days, have preceded her in death. . According to the custom of the early days she was brought up in the Sunday school of which her father was the superintendent, and at the age of twelve years, she was converted and united with the Methodist church south of Fishook, later transferring her membership to the United Brethren church at Fishook and later to the Woodland chruch under the ministry of Rev. Carl Parsons. She was a faithful and devoted Christian woman, active in chruch and Sunday School work, always standing for the right and for the best interests of the community. . She was a good wife and a loving mother. Her kind and motherly influence was not confined to her own home, but went out to a community of neighbors and friends. Truly a good woman has gone to her reward, where God has prepared a home for his faithful followers. Those left to mourn are a loving husband, two daughters, Edna and Mary, two sons, Merle and Rex, one brother, Charles A. Cooley and one sister Mrs. William Stauffer, besides a host of other relatives and friends. . We will miss her in the home, in the church and in the community, but we feel resigned to God's will and look forward with fond hopes to the day when we shall meet to part no more. . Our dear mother slumbers sweetly, In her lonely narrow bed, Fleeting storms and howling tempests Can not harm her peaceful head. . Fond affection, shed a tear, O'er the grave where mother lies, Angels whisper, look up yonder, Pointing upward to the skies. . Many years ago in childhood Mother gave her heart to God. She was ever true and faithful, 'Till we laid her neath the sod. . Oh, our hearts are sad and lonely, Her loving form we'll see no more, But we know that she is happy On that bright celestial shore.
