About Ada Cornelia Vernon

Ada C. Vernon died Aug. 7, 1923, at the advanced age of 63 years and 7 months. Her death was due to a stroke of paralysis. She was married to E.K. Vernon Feb. 4, 1877. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, eleven children, six boys and five girls, all of whom are married, sixty-four grand-children, three great-grand-children, six brothers and sisters and a host of relatives and friends. We comfort ourselves wit [sic] the thought that our loss is her eternal gain. Though she neyer [sic] joined any church, she received a hope in Christ in 1917. She was a kind, loving wife and mother, neighbor and friend. She was loved by all who knew her. Her loss will be keenly felt in the home and in the entire community. She was ever ready to visit the sick and needy and do what she could to help. She had a stroke of paralysis a little more than a week before her death. She rallied somewhat from this stroke and strong hopes were held of her recovery, but she had a relapse which rendered her entirely speechless. She never rallied again and tho [sic] relatives and friends did all that was possible to do for her the hand of Death could not be stayed and she gradually got weaker and weaker until she passed away.

The family desires to express the sincere appreciation and gratitude felt by them for the sympathy and kindness Shown them by their friends and neighbors during the sickness and death of Mrs. Vernon.

A FRIEND.
