Ada Evelyn Yon

Mrs. Ada Evelyn Jordan Yon, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Salisbury.

Evelyn was a daughter of the late Brooks and Eva Hanley Jordan. Early Wednesday morning, June 22, 2016 she went to Heaven to join her late husband, Frank Yon and all her sisters and brothers. Together, Frank and Evelyn raised their two sons, Ronnie and Jackie who are left to cherish their memory.

A funeral service is scheduled for Mrs. Yon at 1:00 pm Friday in Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel, in Kannapolis. Rev. Steve Sprinkle, Rev. Joyce Miles and Bennett Yost will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born in Franklin County, GA. She retired from Cannon Mills where she worked in the sewing room. She was a faithful member of the China Grove Church of God where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was active in the ladies’ ministries. She loved reading Christian Literature, listening to Christian radio, watching Jeopardy and the races on TV, rooting for the Atlanta Braves, going to the YMCA, growing flowers, going to church and spending time with family and friends. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Jackie Yon and his wife Barbara and Ronnie Yon and his wife Elizabeth all of China Grove; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
